Mingle and Pitch – April 4th Nick Churchhouse

feat_mingleandpitch

Our intern crew are pretty excited about pitch extraordinaire Nick Churchhouse   Nick is the Venture Manager at startup incubator Creative HQ. He hears ideas pitched at him every day, and helps prep startup founders to pitch for everything from a new employee to a tranche of seed capital. With pitches under his belt to company boards, government dudes, startup wannabes, startup success stories, and having given an impromptu song to a packed Wellington Town Hall, he's crashed and learned a few times over. Mingle and Pitch: What's it about? Understanding the power of persuasion, … [Read more...]

Building a Framework – Using Lean Canvas

feat_leancanvas

If you had asked me a week ago, what's a lean canvas, I might have mistakenly said it's a cool piece of art?  Well, art is kinda close, in that we are looking at ways to plot and plan our enterprise direction without the cumbersome nature of a 500 page business plan which is indeed a true art form. The tool of using a lean canvas enables us to utilise a one pager that can plot out the most important parts of a business idea.  To test whether the idea can work and what key resources are needed to make it fly. Here are some of the tools Michael refers to, to get a clear sense of how the … [Read more...]

Come and learn about the GFN Challenge: Cambodia

Good For Nothing

The Good for Nothing (GFN) Challenge provides opportunities for talented professionals to come together and solve meaningful social problems. Professionals from all around the world meet on location for a week and form teams with local experts (from NGO leaders to social entrepreneurs) to solve a pivotal problem for a local organisation. We had a few Enspiral people who went to Cambodia in January for a … [Read more...]

GAME OVER: Time to go.

Lets go!

At Enspiral we think about our planet a lot. All the wonderful things like the dire effects of our collective impact on the environment,  the complex systems that are contributing to the problems and the increasingly urgent need for humanity to produce and implement solutions. We’ve made a decision. It’s over. It’s time to leave. Instead of continuing our work developing better ways of working and launching social enterprises we’ve decided to build a rocket ship and leave the planet. The ship is being launched this Sunday 27th at 1.30pm at the waterfront outside Te Papa, … [Read more...]
